Why do robots need to learn how to fall?
What did they learn about the robots falling?
What do they still have to do to get a robot to fall on its feet like a cat?

  1. Robots need to know how to fall so they don't, as the article puts it, Crash down like a bag of rocks. They learned from the robots falling that they needed a more effective way to twist- mid flight. They still have to make a way for the robot to turn easier mid- flight

  2. 1. They need to learn to be more effective on rescue missions.
    2. It would most likely crash "like a bag of rocks"
    3. They have to develop better motors and servos.

  3. 1. Because for now, when the robots fall are like bag of rocks, not ideal if that robot is on a rescue mission.
    2. They have already built a robot capable of computing landing angles during test falls.
    3. They’ll need better motors and servos. The ones available today are not fast enough to sufficiently adjust a robot’s body in real time.

  4. Because if they fall now, they will "Crash down like a bag of rocks". The robot can compute where it needs to land. They need to develop better motors and servos. Alex Haston

  5. because a robot, when it falls, will crash down and break. when robots fall they figured out that if they need to fall like cats. they need to perfect its landing by making the robot know how and where to land, and also able to turn its body mid air.

  6. The robot needs to know how to fall so then it can land like a cat, they want to be able to move the robot mid flight so it can land safe and sound, they need to put sensors to calculate the perfect angle. Garrett Coffin

  7. because robots fall like a bag of rocks.
that the just fall and can break, and that servos are not fast enough to react right now
they have to get faster servos and joints so it can adjust mid flight

  8. robots fail when they fall.
robots are not very good at falling
    better joints and servos.

  9. Robots have to move more carefully. If a robot were to fall from an elevated surface, it would crash and break. They learned that they should make the robots cat-like, so it can emulate a cat's uncanny ability to calculate the best landing angle. They still have to give the robots joints that can twist or flip their bodies to stick the landing regardless of the angle.

  10. Robots can be fragile and expensive, so if it were to fall over it needs a way to land safely. These robots can calculate the best landing angle, but they don't yet have joints that allow them to twist and land. Colin

  11. 1.because of now, when the robot fall on the floor like a bag of rock, it is on a rescue mission.
2.they have already build a robot capable of computer landing angles due the test
    3.they will need better motors
