no it is not a robot because the operator has to control it. I can link to the internet and be able to have apps on it keeps track of heart rate. Nicholas Mhleman
ReplyDeleteYes, because it does not only moves the person around, but can notify 911, monitor heart rate, and track GPS routes, which is different from an ordinary electric wheel chair. I consider those tasks to be complex and have interactions in real life, not just programming.

I think it is a robot because it is constantly collecting data about the person in it. It keeps track of heart rate, can connect to the internet, and can run applications. Alex Haston
ReplyDeleteThe Smart wheelchair can track bio metrics such as your heart rate, body temperature and can notify 911 in the case of an emergency. I do not believe the chair is robot as it does not carry out complex tasks, only the bare functions that are commanded of the robot.

I think that it is not a robot. Because it is a machine that do what the owner let it to do, it can't make its own choice.

I don't think it's a robot, because they need to people to control them. three things differently 1 Can notify 911 in case of emergency.2 can tracks location commonly used routes.3 can collects biometrics such as heart rate and body temperature.

The Smart Wheelchair collects biometrics such as heart rate and body temperature, it tracks location and commonly used routes, and it can notify 911 in case of an emergency. This is a robot because it is programmed to collect data from the wheelchair, from the user and from the experience the user has as he or she travels around.
ReplyDeletei don't think it is a robot because it needs humans in order to carry out tasks. without the human itself it would be basically useless.
ReplyDeleteSam Richards
Its capable of doing things that another human alone cant. Although it does require some human interaction to a considerable degree, in my book its still a robot. Its a robot specifical catered to aid humans with certain deficiencies -Wyatt Coffin
ReplyDeleteThis wheelchair is kind of a robot, because it can do certain things without commands but for the most part it takes immediate human input do operate. Colin
